One wintry and snowy day in December 2000 we snug into a cozy café we found by coincident at 33 Carmine Street, West Village New York. This café came to be one of our favorite cafés in the whole world. And every time we visited New York we went to this café. We even bough Grey Dog Mugs and the Grey Dog Coffee to enjoy back home.
Unfortunately the Grey Dog at 33 Carmine Street does not longer exist, but during our visit to New York July 2012 we visited the one at Mulberry Street, just North of Little Italy in East Village. It's like visiting an old friend. The lovely painting of the grey dog is there as well as many other interior details we recognize from the Carmine Café. And the coffee and the food is still just as good as we remember it!
We will definitely go back, and we're also looking forward to visiting the two other locations this café has in New York.
