Ingredients

Oil - 3 Tbsp
Lady’s Finger - 150 Gms
Fenugreek Seeds - 1/4 Tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1/2 Tsp
Red Chilli - 2 Nos
Asafoetida Powder
Shallots - 7 Nos Thinely Sliced
Shallots - 15 Nos
Garlic - 10 Cloves
Curry leaves
Tomato - 1 No. Finely Chopped
Rock Salt - 1 Tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 Tsp
Red Chilli Powder - 1 Tbsp
Coriander Powder - 1 Tsp
Cumin Powder - 1 Tsp
Tamarind Puree - 1 Bowl Diluted
Water - 1 Cup


Method

1. Heat a kadai with oil, add the chopped lady's finger pieces and fry them
2. Fry them till they turn brown in color and keep them aside
3. To the same kadai, add oil, add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds
4. Once the mustard seeds splutter, add shallots, curry leaves, garlic and saute
5. Add tomato and saute for a min
6. Add the spice powders, salt and saute well
7. Add the fried lady's finger pieces and mix well
8. Add the tamarind pulp and water and mix well
9. Let the khuzhambu/curry boil till the raw smell goes and it thickens a bit
10. Serve the vendakkai puli khuzhambu hot with steamed rice
