Google Pixel 4a 5G | Six Month Review
By Pakka Admin - May 25,2021
Reviewing Google's Pixel 4a 5G again, six months after release, to see if this is one of the best 2021 mid-range Android smartphones. With a Pixel 5a 5G (and 6) just around the corner, how does last year's mobile fare?
That camera tech is certainly impressive still, despite few updates since the launch, while that OS is now packing even more great features, with Android 12 around the corner. However, the Pixel 4a 5G is still lacking in some areas vs rivals like the Zenfone 8, including the performance and refresh rate, while the lack of microSD expansion is also a shame.
If you're after the best camera phone in 2021, then you can't go wrong with a Pixel. Photo and video capture is effortless, producing great looking pics and home movies with minimal brain activity. Android will be updated for years to come, along with monthly security patches. And that OLED screen is good, if lacking in 90Hz refresh action. Plus, while performance is definitely limited compared with rivals like that Zenfone, you can still get gaming if you temper your expectations.
